DOC week

DOC week came around fast and before we knew it we were in a kiwi crach finding a kiwi and checking traps. The week was a cold one and clearing the tracks was hard work in the snow, but we got it done.

Sea kayak

Date: 1/8/11
Location: Abel Tasman NP/ Anakiwa
Duration: 10 Days
Once upon a time I thought that sea kayaking was for those people who were seeking less adventure and risk than the rest of us white water kayakers. I was wrong. Our ten day sea kayaking mish was cold, wet and sandy but also exciting and it opened up my eyes to a whole new style of kayaking, one that I enjoyed a lot. The conditions were near perfect apart from a southerly front that came through on the day that I was leader, we managed to pull through and after two attempts at getting around the final point we made it to camp. Another big part of the trip was group development, we had many intense feedback sessions which helped our previously slightly lost group get focus and work as a well oiled machine! if you want any more photos from the trip let me know...
